2010 Southmont Elementary Duals
The
Avon Wrestling Club sent two teams to the
Southmont Elementary Duals on January 10th.
Avon Gold went 4 - 0 in their pool, by
defeating Westfield, Crawfordsville, Perry
Meridian, and Yorktown. This
performance earned them an appearance in the
championship match, where they defeated
Muncie Pal Wrestling Club. Avon Black
finished 1-4 on the day and finished 8th in
the ten team tournament.

2009
Hendricks County
The
Orioles won their record tying sixth consecutive
Hendricks County championship on Saturday
December 19, 2009. The team finished the day
with 174.5 points to outdistance Brownsburg's
156.5 points, and Danville's 147.5 points.
Plainfield, Cascade, and Tri-West rounded out
the field. Montana Gipson was able to wrestle
his way to a fourth place finish. Jordan
Mueller, Steven Klein, and Alex Smith were able
to bring home a third place finish. Nick Acosta
and Jake Williams battled into the championship
match where they secured second place finishes.
Matt Rassbach, Blaine Hall, Cole Brandt, and
Quincy Pirtle led the team by winning individual
titles.
Irish
Duals Results
Sunday December 6th the Avon Wrestling Club took
part in the Irish Elementary Wrestling Duals at
Indpls. Cathedral High School. AWC finished 3
and 0 in their pool and lost in the Championship
Match to the host Irish Wrestling Club. Avon
defeated Bloomington South in round one, topped
Evansville Blue in the second round, and
defeated Indy Southside (Roncalli) in round
three. Avon had 37 wrestlers in attendance, 28
wrestlers competed in the Elementary Duals and
seven other wrestlers attended to get exhibition
matches.
Bloomington South Elementary Duals

The Avon Wrestling Club started their season with a bang at the
Bloomington South Elementary Duals. The Gold
team went undefeated, with the help of wresters
Tyler Conley, Jaden Reynolds, Mason Miranda,
Tyler Miner, Jace Hietkamp, and Carson Brewer.
These wrestlers all posted 4-0 records to to
start the season. The Black team also had
a very strong showing. They were led by
Caleb Alvarez, Nolan McAfee, Aaron Conde, and
Lance Ellington, all of which were unbeaten on
the day. This early success can be
attributed to hard work and good drill
habits from all wrestlers involved. Great
job to all participants.
