2010 Freestyle State Finals

Six AWC wrestlers competed in the 2010 ISWA Freestyle State Tournament on Saturday, May 1.  Half of the wrestlers were able to capture a medal by placing in the top eight in their respective weight class.  Leading the way with a state championship, was intermediate wrestler Carson Brewer.  Placing 6th in the Novice age division was Cody Kammerer, and placing 5th in the Schoolboy division was Quinn Harris.  Other wrestlers competing on the day were Gabe Dunham, Matt Svorinic, and Brian Rassbach.  Congratulations to all six of these wrestlers on their dedication to improving.  Carson and Quinn also placed in the Greco State on May 2.

2010 USA Wrestling Folkstyle Nationals

AWC had four wrestlers make the trip to Cedar Falls, Iowa, to compete in the 2010 Folkstyle Nationals.  At the youth level Carson Brewer, Aaron Conde, and Gunnar Larson competed. Carson wrestled very tough competition, and stepped up to the challenge, by earning a seventh place medal.  Unfortunately, Aaron Conde fell one match short of a medal, despite some very solid wrestling.   Gunnar Larson also competed very hard, but was unable to finish the tournament.  Also, Cole Brandt wrestled with Team Indiana in the Junior Age division.  Cole had a very good tournament and brought home a fourth place medal.  Congratulations to all four on their efforts.
