Avon Wrestling Club will hold its yearly registration November 2nd and 3rd 6:00-7:30pm at Avon High School. If you are unable to attend the registration and would still like to join Avon Wrestling Club, then you can still sign up. To do so, just attend any of the regularly scheduled practices. AWC Group Descriptions

Black Group

The black level practices are where all wrestlers Pre-K through 5th grade begin. These practices are focused on teaching the fundamentals of wrestling in a fun and noncompetitive atmosphere. This group contains wrestlers who have 0-2 years experience or are not ready to wrestle in a competitive atmosphere. Wrestlers in this group are encouraged to participate in beginners tournaments throughout the season. Most will not compete in events such as state tournaments. Practices for this group will primarily be held on Mondays and Wednesdays in the Avon High School wrestling room.

Gold Group

The gold practices are suited for wrestlers 2nd - 5th grade who are ready to practice in a competitive atmosphere. Wrestlers in this group have been invited by the AWC Coaches to participate in the group. They are generally expected to have a fundamental grasp of the rules of wrestling and a basic technique skill set. Gold group wrestlers will generally have 3 or more years experience in the sport of wrestling. Gold level wrestlers are encourage to compete in open tournaments, and state or national level tournaments throughout the year. Practices for this group will primarily be held on Mondays and Fridays in the Avon High School Wrestling room.

Middle School

All wresters in 6th - 8th grade will participate in the middle school group. These practices are primarily instructional, but will contain some competitive wrestling. The middle school practices will prepare wrestlers for the beginning of middle school wrestling in January. Practices for this group will primarily be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the AMS South Wrestling room. Some practices will be held at AMS North and are noted accordingly on the schedule.
