Five Advance to Semi-State

The Orioles advanced five wrestlers to the 2012 Evansville Semi-State. Leading the way with an IHSAA Regional title was D. Jones. Earning runner-up honors were J. Zorniger and B. Snyder. Also advancing for the Orioles were B. Rassbach and N. Etienne. Each wrestler now finds himself two wins away from wrestling in the 2012 IHSAA State Finals.

Orioles lose a close Sectional

The AHS Wrestlers suffered a disappointing lose at the 2012 Sectional Tournament. Although the team is finished, they did manage to advance 12 wrestlers to the Regional Tournament. This is very promising for the future of the team considering only two seniors are on this years squad. Advancing for the Orioles was B. Rassbach, C. Loman, N. Etienne, B. Helm, M. Svorinic, S. Klein, E. Elmore, N. Zorniger, Z. Williams, J. Zorniger, D. Jones, and B. Snyder.

Orioles go 4-1 at the Super Six

The AHS Wrestlers hosted the Avon Super Six on January 7. The young Oriole team continued to show improvment going 4-1 as a team.

Individuals going undefeated on the day were B. Helm and J. Zorniger. AHS will be back in action at the HCC Tournament this Saturday 1/14 at Brownsburg. The Junior Varsity will also be in action at Ben Davis.

AHS drops a tough dual to Ben Davis

The AHS Wrestlers lost a hard fought dual to the Giants by a score of 23-34 Wednesday 1/4. Winning matches for the Orioles were Q. Harris, S. Klein, A. Williams, J. Zorniger, D. Jones, and B. Smyder. The Orioles will host the Avon Super Six on Saturday 1/7 starting at 9:00am.

AHS finishes 6th at EMD holiday classic

The Orioles finished 6th at the EMD Holiday Classic behind top Indiana and Kentucky teams. B. Snyder was the lone tournament champion for the Orioles, while N. Etienne, B. Helm, S. Klein, J. Zorniger, and D. Jones also placed.

AHS wins 8th straight hendricks county

The Orioles captured their eighth consecutive Hendricks County Title on Decemeber 17th with a narrow win over Danville by one half of a point. Individual champions for the Orioles were B. Helm, J. Zorniger, D. Jones, and B. Snyder.

AHS wins over zionsville

The varsity won a close dual over conference opponent Zionsville 36-26. The JV came out with another tough loss for the season.

Perry Meridian Triple Dual

The Orioles had a rough day at the Perry Meridian Triple dual. To start the day they lost to #3 Roncalli 9-67, followed by a 15-55 loss to a senior lead Greenfield Central team, and concluded to the day by being shut out by #1 Perry Meridian.

Avon Defeats Brownsburg

The AHS Wrestling Team defeated Brownsburg 39-22 at the varsity level. At the JV level they lost a tough match 24-41.

Cathedral Super Six

The AHS Wrestling varsity team continued regular season action at the Cathedral Super Six on Saturday, December 3rd. The mostly underclassman team wrestled hard every round to finish the day with a 3-2 record.
